Friday Fun Stuff: Old School with Weird Al

Happy Friday to you. Hope you’ve had a great week.  I’ve had a fun week at the beach, and just a quick FYI that I’ve been featured over at the Culture and Cuisine blog with a chicken salad recipe.

Now, on to the Friday Fun Stuff. Last week, I highlighted the comedic stylings of I’m So Pregnant, and a couple of selections from Bart Baker. While funny, Baker too often relies on the vulgar to get it done. He could take a few tips from the master of music parody, Weird Al Yankovic. We loved Weird Al when he brought us Fat and Eat It, great parodies of Micheal Jackson’s songs Bad and Beat It. Weird Al is still out there and going strong, so I thought for our Friday Fun Stuff, I’d bring out Al’s great parody of Chamillionaire’s Ridin’ Dirty, White and Nerdy.

Other Weird Al favorites:

Smells like Nirvana, based on Nirvan’s Smells like Teen Spirit

Amish Paradise, based on Coolio’s Gangsta Paradise

The Saga Begins, a Star Wars tribute to the music of Don McLean’s American Pie

Yoda, another Star Wars tribute se to the music of the Kinks’ Lola

  1. My son introduced me to Weird Al Yankovic years ago and I loved him. A truly clever and talented man. Ha, I haven’t heard of Bart Baker before though.
