Friday Favorites – Barenaked Ladies & Sarah McLachlan

So, I mentioned last week, I was switching from the traditional fun stuff to my favorite Christmas songs for Fridays. Well, up today is a song I heard for the first time last year on the Christmas stations. It doesn’t get played that often–and it doesn’t even have a real video–but it’s absolutely fabulous. It’s the Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan doing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

Honestly, I’d never much liked the song when I heard it as a child, but this version just kicks butt. It’s upbeat, full of soul and just so much fun.
