Happy Monday! I had a lovely time at the Virginia Festival of the Book over the weekend. I also saw my supercool in-laws. I got to eat at Michie Tavern (pronounced Micky, like the mouse), which serves an awesome Southern buffet. (KD brought us seconds and was very nice.)
I’ll write a couple of posts about interesting stuff I learned a little later this week.
Whilst I was in Virginia (which is for lovers, as their slogan says), it occurred to me that I have been withholding love from my baby. My second born (Second Life) has gotten very little love and promotion from me. I figured I’d focus on getting people to buy book one and then they’d go ahead and buy book two. But, that hardly seems fair to Second Life. So, I decided I’d spend the next couple weeks giving my baby a little love.
I’ll be tweeting, Facebooking, Tumblring and Pinning quotes from Second Life. I’ve also dropped the price temporarily, from $3.99 to $0.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble so fans can grab a little bit of a discount. Finally, I added Second Life to the sidebar on the blog here (Life First has been there for some time).
Just because Second Life is the second to come along, doesn’t mean it can raise itself. Nope, I’ve still got to parent this book. So, here’s me getting my act together and devoting a little marketing and promotion love to Second Life.
Lastly, in case you missed it, I guest blogged about writing sequels on Sallie’s Book Reviews and More blog. Check it out if you missed it. Today, I’m giving Tips on Creating a Story Bible at Indies Unlimited.
Good idea and good luck with the promos.
Thanks. I’ll let you know how they turned out.
